Crazy 4 calorie counting
There’s an ever-increasing number of diets, coaches & clients fixated on one thing…
An over-reliance on calorie counting. Restricting foods to fit within a calorie budget and counting the calories burned with increased exercise.
Yeah ok, these methods work on paper, theoretically. But we are not we are not a science experiment or house plants, we are very complicated human beings with big things called EMOTIONS and they absolutely must be taken into account on your fat-loss journey. Life happens to us while we are on this journey and we can’t push it away or ignore it, that just exacerbates any problems or feelings.
In my opinion, calorie counting should be the very last thing that is implemented, slowly & with the assistance of a nutritionist (pick me!).
Before anything else, you need to tackle any emotional eating behaviours present, over-snacking habits and discover “why”. If you uncover and address the “why”, the problem will be easier to solve. It’s better to fix a hole in the boat than to just learn to bail it out faster, yes?
We’re not ignoring an issue, we’re not restricting, we’re not putting extra rules, stresses and parameters around how we live. We are addressing the problems that are present. If you do that, you will pop out the other side with sustainable, achievable fat loss that gives you FOOD FREEDOM.
What’s food freedom you ask? It allows your to live your life, it allows you to go to the pub for a ‘parma’ and chips without feeling guilty or stressed that it doesn’t fit within your calorie budget. Why? Because you’ll be in a balance physically, MENTALLY with the nutrition you are fuelling your body with and not worrying about how LITTLE you can possibly eat.
