Can We Stop With The Extremes, Please?
Why sustainable health beats obsession every single time.
Sometimes I scroll social media and honestly wonder...
When did being healthy become so exhausting?
Wake up at 5am.
Ice bath.
Fast until lunch.
Track every calorie.
Hit 15,000 steps.
Train twice a day.
Avoid carbs.
Never miss a workout.
Drink the green powder.
Buy the supplement.
Wear the tracker.
Log the sleep score.
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
It's no wonder so many people decide it's all too hard.
Because somewhere along the way, health became confused with obsession.
And I don't want any part of it.
My Goal Isn't To Look Like A Fitness Influencer
I'm a nutritionist.
I teach Pilates.
I love exercise.
I love nutritious food.
But I also...
Eat birthday cake.
Go out for dinner.
Enjoy chocolate.
Have lazy Sundays.
Miss workouts.
Drink wine with friends.
Because that's real life.
If looking after your health means you can't actually enjoy your life...
I think we've missed the point.
The Problem With Extremes
Extreme plans often work...
For a while.
You can white-knuckle almost anything for a few weeks.
But eventually life happens.
Someone gets sick.
Work gets busy.
School holidays arrive.
You go on holiday.
You have a stressful week.
And suddenly the plan falls apart.
Not because you failed.
Because it was never designed for a real human living a real life.
Health Should Fit Around Your Life
Not the other way around.
I don't want you cancelling dinner with friends because it doesn't fit your macros.
I don't want you feeling guilty because you missed one workout.
I don't want you weighing lettuce leaves or being scared of bread.
I don't want your kids growing up believing health means constantly trying to shrink yourself.
I want you to have enough energy to keep up with your family.
Enough strength to carry the groceries.
Enough confidence to wear the swimmers.
Enough fitness to climb the hill on holidays.
Enough balance to enjoy dessert without feeling guilty.
That's what health looks like.
You Don't Need To Earn Your Food
Food isn't a reward.
Exercise isn't a punishment.
Movement isn't something you do to "burn off" last night's pizza.
Food fuels your body.
Movement celebrates what your body can do.
They're teammates.
Not enemies.
Normal Is Underrated
Maybe the healthiest person in the room isn't the one with visible abs.
Maybe it's the woman who:
Walks most days.
Eats vegetables because she enjoys them.
Lifts some weights.
Sleeps well.
Laughs a lot.
Has a glass of wine occasionally.
Doesn't panic over one weekend away.
Gets back into her routine on Monday without guilt.
That sounds pretty healthy to me.
My Coaching Philosophy
You'll never hear me tell you to:
❌ Cut out entire food groups.
❌ Exercise every day.
❌ Chase perfection.
❌ Feel guilty for living your life.
Instead, we'll focus on:
✔ Eating enough protein.
✔ Filling your plate with colourful foods.
✔ Moving your body regularly.
✔ Sleeping well.
✔ Managing stress.
✔ Building habits you can still see yourself doing five years from now.
Because if it's only sustainable for six weeks...
It's not sustainable.
The Best Health Plan Is The One You Forget You're Following
Think about brushing your teeth.
You don't need motivation.
You don't negotiate with yourself.
You just do it.
That's what healthy habits should become.
Not something you constantly think about.
Just part of who you are.
No guilt.
No obsession.
No drama.
The H for Health Philosophy
I'm not interested in helping you become the leanest person in the room.
I'm interested in helping you become one of the healthiest.
Someone with energy.
Someone who's strong.
Someone who enjoys food.
Someone who feels confident.
Someone who lives their life instead of constantly trying to optimise every minute of it.
Because health shouldn't become your whole personality.
It should quietly support the life you actually want to live.
That's the kind of healthy I'm interested in.
And I have a feeling you are too.
Start TODAY By...
☐ Eat one balanced meal without overthinking it.
☐ Go for a walk because it feels good—not because you "have to."
☐ Delete one unrealistic health rule you've been carrying around.
☐ Stop trying to be perfect.
☐ Start trying to be consistent.
Normal isn't boring.
Normal is sustainable.
And sustainable is where real health lives.
