Eating “Healthy” But Not Losing Weight? Here’s Why
“I eat really healthy… but nothing changes.”
This is one of the most common frustrations I hear from women — and it’s not because they’re doing anything wrong.
The issue is that “healthy eating” is often misunderstood.
Why “healthy” doesn’t always lead to results
1. Healthy foods can still be under-fuelling
Salads, smoothies and low-fat meals can look great on paper but fail to provide enough energy for an active body.
2. You’re eating reactively, not strategically
Skipping meals, grazing, or eating differently every day makes it hard for your body to feel safe and regulated.
3. Food rules are overriding hunger signals
Ignoring hunger because it’s “not the right time” or “too many calories” often leads to overeating later.
4. Stress matters more than perfection
High stress and poor sleep can stall progress even when food choices look good.
The missing piece
Results come from consistency and adequacy, not restriction.
That means:
Regular meals
Enough protein and carbs
Flexibility around social life
Less mental load around food
